Nothosaur Guide to Flops

Imperfections (we called 'flops') happen all the time as an inevitable part of the purely handcrafting toys. We will come with a discount to compensate for its little imperfection. Common causes for a flop include (but are not limited to)…

Mold Imperfections are unavoidable imperfections in molds designed for specific toys or sizes. These may include tiny areas of rough texture, minor warping of shape, or slight indentations. Mold flaws are not always disclosed, as they are a normal part of the mold. Sometimes, they may be disclosed in the product listing. However, they are normally safe and do not affect the toy's overall lifespan or functionality.

Cosmetic Flops:
1. Air Bubbles on the suction cup of the base.
2. Tiny Air Bubbles visible in the surface of the toy.
3. Small bit of extraneous silicone that cannot be scraped out.
4. Small pigment spots below the usable area of the toy.
5. Uneven trim marks on the base.
6. Tiny pock marks from mold wear and tear

Unperfect Pours:
1. An error in the color ratio, resulting in an inconsistent with the signature color.
2. Wild and vibrant color marbling. (Shop Now)

Air Bubbles

Air Bubbles are little craters that happen when the silicone pushes the air to the corners of the mold when it’s poured in.

Color Spots

Color Spots are small specks of pigment that haven’t quite mixed in. Just superficial cosmetic flaws.

Nicks

Nicks are small cuts in the silicone that happen when the toy is stuck in the mold or if there’s a snafu in trimming the excess. Be careful not to overly strain your toy to avoid stretching the nick into a tear!
