Vampire - ISSUS

"Taking the forest path near Daimon Castle to save time? Yeah, not your smartest move."

The voice was low, chilly, and came out of nowhere. You flinched.
In the dim moonlight, you could barely make out a well-dressed gentleman walking toward you -- elegant, poised... but then, bam...a ghostly pale face and blood-red lips.

You dropped to the ground in sheer terror, scrambled to your feet, and bolted in the opposite direction. But it was too late.
You heard the terrifying flapping of wings getting closer...fast. A second later, you were snatched up and hauled into the sky, past the treetops, straight toward the clouds.

"Wandering around alone this late? You do realize how dangerous this place is, right?"
The vampire sneered as he carried you effortlessly through the night.
You, meanwhile, were mentally halfway through your last will and testament, staring blankly at the shrinking forest below, silently praying that if you were going to fall, it wouldn’t hurt too much.

But then... wait. Is that a grape field? A perfectly manicured, thriving grape field in the middle of this dead forest?
Yep. Your brain finally threw in the towel, and you passed out cold.

When you woke up, you were lying on an enormous leather couch. Everything around you looked expensive, elegant... and more than a little creepy.

“You're up? Here, drink something warm,” the voice said again, startling you for the second time tonight.

You turned toward him, wide-eyed.

"Relax, relax. I don’t bite. I know what you’re thinking, ‘Why would a vampire save me? Could there really be a monster this handsome and this nice?’ " He laughed at his own joke. Loudly.

His name was Issus. A vampire by blood, but the only thing he sinks his teeth into these days... is wine.

"Good, right? Rockman used to beg me for two barrels a week. But we were at mess, so no time. Even Chen wanted my secret recipe!"

It was freezing in the castle, and you finally gave in, accepting his offer of wine.
But the moment that first sip touched your lips, you were shook. Rich, smooth, layered...

So you had another glass. And another.
And Issus joined you. Glass after glass... the room got warmer, the talk got flirtier, and, well...let’s just say the air got thick with tension.
